Another beutiful day for a hike. We met at Echo at 9 so we could get an earlier ferry to the island. We reached Nanaimo in time to catch the 11 and were on the island after a short trip across the water. The trails are all well groomed and easy walking for most people. As in the past we kept the water on our right until we cut back into the center of the island when heading back to the ferry dock. Lunch was in a shelter with plenty of room for everyone. It looked out over the water and we watched the BC Ferry arrive.
Walking on the island is very peaceful. It is hard to tell you are just off shore from a busy city. Much of the trail goes along the water but there is a number of trails in the center of the island going through the forest. With the hot sun beating down it was beautiful and cool in the trees.
